The accommodation tax rate in Kyoto City will be revised starting from March 1 (Sunday), 2026.
The new tax rate will apply to stays beginning on March 1(Sunday), 2026.

Before the revision [up to February 28(Saturday), 2026]
– Accommodation fee (per person per night) under 20,000 yen: Accommodation tax 200 yen
– Accommodation fee (per person per night) 20,000 yen or more: Accommodation tax 500 yen
– Accommodation fee (per person per night) 50,000 yen or more: Accommodation tax 1,000 yen

After the revision [from March 1 (Sunday), 2026]
– Accommodation fee (per person per night) under 6,000 yen: Accommodation tax 200 yen
– Accommodation fee (per person per night) 6,000 yen or more: Accommodation tax 400 yen
– Accommodation fee (per person per night) 20,000 yen or more: Accommodation tax 1,000 yen
– Accommodation fee (per person per night) 50,000 yen or more: Accommodation tax 4,000 yen
– Accommodation fee (per person per night) 100,000 yen or more: Accommodation tax 10,000 yen

*The accommodation tax rate applies to the accommodation fee (excluding consumption tax) per person per night.
*The accommodation fee for the accommodation tax does not include meal charges or consumption tax, and refers to the room-only rate.
